Should a Raped Woman Abort her Child?

3door ways

Nothing in this world is black and white. Every situation has an entire rainbow of different ways to look at it. While some people only see one way or another, two ways aren’t even scratching the surface. In the case of whether a raped woman should keep or abort her child, there are a lot of ways to look at it.

On the one hand, if she allows the baby that was produced by rape to live, it will benefit the cause of the rapist. One of the subliminal reasons why a rapist practices their namesake is to breed. While they might not be thinking about it at the time, having children is a supplementary result and potential goal of a rapist. When a child born from rape grows up, they will be more likely to become a rapist. It’s literally in their blood, after all.

However, one could also argue that every child deserves to live just as much as anyone else does. When a child is terminated without ever even having the chance to live, no one knows what sort of things he or she might have accomplished with a life. A rapist may also be a contender for the Nobel Prize in physics, for all anyone knows. The tough part about making such a decision as this one is in how many things no one can know. While benefiting a rapist is a bad decision, punishing a child for it’s birth father’s actions is another one.

Is Abortion Wrong?

Abortion is a process by which a fetus is terminated before it can be born. When a child cannot be born in the first place, the mother is free to use her resources for whatever else she wants in life. Since a woman can reproduce later on when her life is in better condition, this could potentially be a useful move on her part. So is abortion wrong?

An abortion is often carried out because a woman doesn’t believe she can support or properly care for her unborn child. This belief can make a woman border on hysterics, and can lead to reduced quality in her decision making process. When it comes to making a quality decision as far as keeping her child, far too often a woman’s ability is marred when her delivery date draws near. This can lead to terminating a child despite having the ability to raise it into a productive adult.

Unfortunately, there are also occasions when a woman might be well advised to discard her child but chooses not to do so. When a woman seeks resources from a government program, she may want to have additional children in order to maximize her benefits. This harms society as a whole and tends to produce dependent individuals who end up contributing very little to the world they drain. In such conditions, abortion is not only an advisable option for a preferential one.

While one could call abortions murder, such operations could also be called preferential breeding.

The Psychological Side of Abortion

Making the choice to continue with an unplanned or unwanted pregnancy or to have an abortion can be difficult. Once the decision is made and the procedure is completed, there can be emotional side effects for women to deal with. Being aware of the possible psychological side effects can help a women to determine why she is having these feelings or can help prepare you for understanding or seeking the help needed after the fact.

In some cases, someone who has an abortion can experience many different emotions. These can include guilt, anger, depression, anxiety, hopelessness, or irritability. Many of these can be contributed to some form of depression. Other women can other side effects that affect their relationship, or cause sexual difficulties, eating disorders, nightmares, flashbacks or even substance abuse. Yet other women might feel so over come by these feelings that they may try to get pregnant again very quickly to atone for the abortion and the loss of the previous child.

For some, these emotional or psychological impacts can last for a short time, while in other women it may last months or even years. In more severe cases, it can develop into Post Abortion Syndrome or PAS. In most cases, all these effects can be treated with either individual or group counseling.

If you are having these types of side effects, it would be beneficial to seek out support groups, or contact your doctor or clinic where you had the procedure done to get information on how to receive the support you need. Seek support and guidance to help you through this difficult time.

Talking To Your Teen about Contraceptives

Anything to do with sex is not easy to discuss with your teen. More schools are conducting sex education classes, but you may not agree with the way the subject is presented. You may believe in abstinence before marriage, while the school teaches “safe sex.”

Or your school’s sexual education classes may teach abstinence. However, you want your teen to be aware of contraceptives if they decide to become sexually active.

It doesn’t have to be awkward, especially if you take a little time to re-educate yourself first. Things have changed—a lot—since you were a teenager. For girls, you need to know that birth control pills are now used for other reasons besides simply contraception, so it’s important to know which ones are intended for safe sex. In addition, there are pills and shots that allow you to only have four periods per year.

For boys, there are now almost as many condoms to choose from as there are candy bars. Some, however, are intended primarily to enhance pleasure, and while they provide some protection, they may not be as effective as regular condoms which are intended to be used strictly for contraceptive purposes.

Once you have all that straight, then you have to get down to the “nitty-gritty”—when to use them, how to use them, and so forth. If your daughter chooses birth control pills, that are fairly easy, she just has to remember to take them in the exact order they should be. However, this is something that must be done, and the sooner, the better. So, find your courage, get your information, and face the topic head-on.

Supporting Rape Victims

Rape is a horrible crime that far too many men and women are experiencing. It’s a situation that shouldn’t be wished on your worst enemy. If you’ve learned that your friend was a victim of this horrible crime, it’s important to be there and help our friend heal after this emotional and physical ordeal. Let them know they’re not alone and you’ll be there for them. Rape is not just a horrible crime, but the person was also personally violated.

When supporting rape victims, be on their side and believe what they’re telling you. Did you know that the least reported crime in the United States is rape? This is because people tend to not believe the rape victim, causing them to feel ashamed. Your friend trusts you; this is why they came to you seeking help.

Your friend is the victim in this horrible crime. No one will ever deserve to be raped. It doesn’t matter what that rapist reasons are, no one deserves to be violated like that. It doesn’t matter if she drank too much or wore a short skirt, it will never be the victim’s fault. Never! Put yourself in your friend’s shoes. Would you want to be blamed? Before anything, it’s important to tell your friend that what happened wasn’t his or her fault.

While it’s easy to tell your friend to report it and go to the hospital, he or she has to make the choice to do that. This is a hard thing to do, so let your friend know you’ll be there every step of the way. The last thing you want to do is force them to do something they might not be ready to do.

What You Need to Know About Abortion

Abortion. This one word causes people to go into a heated debate. It’s also considered a controversial topic. Even so, it’s a topic that should be talked about.

Did you know that in the United States alone one in three women that are under the age of 45 would have an abortion? The biggest debate with abortion is when life actually begins. Those who are pro-life feel that life begins and conception, therefore they believe abortion is murder. To those who are pro-choice, life doesn’t begin until gestation or once the baby is born.

It wasn’t until the 1820s when the United States began develop laws on abortion. It was actually prohibited once the woman was four months along. Even though majority of the abortions became banned by around 1900, it was pretty common to have illegal abortions done. By 1965, all 50 states prohibited abortions, but had a few exceptions that were different state by state.

Medical and surgery are the two types of abortions. Medical is when a woman will take a medication in order to end her pregnancy. After being pregnant for nine weeks, medical abortion is not an option.

Surgical abortion is when a doctor performs the procedure using medical instruments. The most common is the manual vacuum aspiration where the doctor will use a small tube that will suction out everything in the uterus.

With abortion, there aren’t a lot of complications being reported. A lot of bleeding happens with one out of 1,000 procedures. Two out of 100 abortions aren’t able to remove all the tissue completely. Women often times suffer from cramping, bleeding or a minor infection. If there are any problems an ultrasound will be able to spot it.

Before taking a side on any debate, it’s always good to have some background information. Never take sides or pass judgment until you’ve got all the information necessary.

Protecting Your Rights For A Safe Abortion

We all have our rights. We’ve fought for them for many years. Roe v. Wade stopped the state laws from prohibiting abortion in 1973. This allowed women to have the right to having a safe abortion. Now, abortion has quickly turned into a controversial topic.

Those in pro-life groups have been trying to overturn this ruling from legislation. They’ve held demonstrations and even became a little violent. Pro-choice groups are trying to keep allowing women to have the right to having a safe abortion.

It’s important to know your information and stay up to date on the issue and history of safe abortion. It’s all politics and understanding how it works is important.

Write letters or send e-mails to any elected officials in your state in hopes of receiving their full support. These people are extremely busy so remember to keep everything short and straight to the point. Don’t get personal in the letters. Just state the facts.

Joining pro-choice groups and organizations is another way to protect your rights. There are some advocacy groups, National Abortion Rights Action League and there is political party, Early Money is Like Yeast.

Support candidates that are pro-choice. Learn what each person’s view on a woman’s right to have a safe abortion is. Make sure that you let that person know you’re showing your support because of his or her stance on pro-choice.

Show you’re truly committed in protecting your rights for a safe abortion. If there’s a march or a rally, or any type of event going on near you that’s supporting women’s rights, go to them. This is the perfect way to meet other people and network.

There are multiple things you can do in order to protect your rights for a safe abortion. You all have the right to speak up for your beliefs and this is your chance to do the same. Speak up.

Choosing Your Stance On Abortion

Abortion is a controversial subject to talk about. Many people have strong opinions on the subject matter and others are even afraid to say anything due to the criticism they could receive.

The subject of debate about abortion isn’t just about numbers and facts, it’s mostly controlled by emotion. Before choosing which side you’re on, it’s important to know about the legal options that have to do with abortion. After that, it’s ok to bring in your personal stance about the controversial topic.

When choosing your stance on abortion you’ll need to know that this topic isn’t exactly black and white. There are a lot of gray areas about this topic.

It’s good to make a choice about what think is considered human life. This is the main argument that people use when debating abortion. Consider one thing, when does human life begin? Is it at conception or at birth? Once you’ve got an answer for this than you’ll have part of your argument.

Then think about whether or not there are other things that could affect a woman’s decision to have an abortion. What would qualify or un-qualify a woman’s option of getting an abortion.

Decide on who should be the one getting the information on abortion. If someone under 18 should get their parent’s permission, than talk about that. This is a tough subject so try and have facts to back it up.

Look up the facts on abortion, but be open minded that not everyone will agree with our stance or viewpoints. Also remember that many people will twist the facts around to make their side seem more correct, don’t do this. State what you believe is right and wrong and don’t be so scared to disagree with your opponent. No everyone will share the same opinions. That’s the beauty about an opinion, we’re allowed to have them.

When choosing your stance on abortion its important to get all your facts and information before making your final decision. Keep an open mind and be prepared to go at battle with those who feel strongly against your viewpoint.

Defending Your Beliefs On Pro Choice

Defending your opinion requires more than just stating what you think. There’s more to a debate on Pro-Choice than your opinion. You need some hard facts, scientific evidence and a very good argument that you’re able to state clearly. When debating and defending your beliefs, it’s important to remain focused on the medical side to help defend your stance.

When thinking about what to say think about who your audience is. Show everyone that you’re empathetic and now criticize those who are pro-life. If you just criticize they will get defensive and stop listening.

When doing any debate, you’ll need to discuss both sides of the topic and dispute what you disagree with. It’s important to include scientific evidence and any kind of ruling that will show favor towards your beliefs. One popular topic to bring up on abortion would be the Roe v. Wade case. For instance, even though pro-life groups do feel that the baby is a human life and are against abortion do to a moral and religious point of view, these viewpoints don’t have any stance with how the laws are made or when it comes to the government. Just remember, just because you feel that life begins at conception, doesn’t actually mean it does.

Also point out that having an abortion means a medical procedure is done. Like with any procedures, a woman’s life could be at risk if her pregnancy is considered risky or there are complications during the procedure. If needed point out that many hospitals and clinics do provide a sterile and safe environment for women, but nothing is 100 percent guaranteed.

Abortion is one of the most controversial topics to debate about since many people have strong opinions on and don’t really care or want to hear what others think. In fact, most people opt to not cover this topic when choosing what to debate about. Even so, it can make for a heated and interesting debate against two very strong-willed people. Keep and open mind and try and state as many facts as possible when defending your beliefs on pro-choice.

The Role of Parents In Abortion

People who make the choice to have abortions are met with intense fire and criticism from anyone who finds out. While abortion may be legal in many parts of the world, it is certainly not accepted as a normal practice. Even those who support a woman’s right to choose understand that it’s better off that the child not be conceived at all. So what is the step in reducing the number of abortions that occur in the world every day?

Birth Control

There is nothing wrong with using a little protection. There are many young people who don’t like the feel of a condom, or girls that don’t like the way a medication makes their body feel. There simply has to be a line drawn somewhere when it comes to this. Parents must educate their children on the dangers of having sex without any protection. Beyond diseases there is the overriding possibility of getting pregnant. Parents must make sure kids are committed to using protection whenever they are going to engage in a sexual activity.

Trust

Many teens who become pregnant don’t talk to their parents about it because they don’t feel like they can. Most teens envision their parents getting incredibly angry and refusing to speak to them or shaming their children. Parents must make sure their kids are aware that no matter what the situation that they can always come to them. The want is that kids will feel more comfortable about being open and honest with their parent and they will be willing to tell them when they are pregnant. This will give the parents the option of going over what options are best for the child and the parent and deciding if there is a reason to have the abortion. A parent is a very big part of the pregnancy process on a teen mother. They must be supportive and they must be helpful so that the right decision can be made.
